Google is Wrong About What Happened to the Dinosaurs
If you perform a Google search right now for “What really happened to the dinosaurs,” the answer box returns the following, along with a side link to a book by Ken Ham with that title.
“The Bible gives us a framework for explaining dinosaurs in terms of thousands of years of history, including the mystery of when they lived and what happened to them. Dinosaurs are used more than almost anything else to indoctrinate children and adults in the idea of millions of years of earth history.”
The quote is pulling from a page called “Answers in Genesis,” and is obviously not the best source to address this particular query, but excellent SEO strategy by creationists has led to this page being top-ranked for this search string.
Fortunately, Google has this handy little “feedback,” form that allows you to report answer box errors. The button is in small grey letters to the bottom-right of the box. This means that it is time for a little bit of skeptical micro-activism.
If you have a moment today, perform the same search and give feedback on the result and hopefully Google will correct it shortly.
